We always have a lot of fun with the teams during the Little Hollywood Shootout and love to see the films that come out of the competition. Each year the quality of films has gotten better and better and this year was no exception. But sometimes a story developed for the Little Hollywood Shootout just won’t go away, and the 52 hour requirements just isn’t enough to fully realize an idea. Last year Jared Seaich took two years worth of Little Hollywood Shootout submissions to create a longer film that went on to screen at the 2013 Salt Lake Comic Con to a packed house.
And this year Jeffery Sanders has taken his entry and taken it to the next level. Taking home the second place award his film “A Wolf and a Devil” was beautifully shot, acted and edited. But Jeffery knew it wasn’t quite what he had originally envisioned so he has taken the next step to get it there.
The changes Jeffery brought to his film added additional clarity to the story and an emotional connection with the audience that is tangible. Based on a strange, folklore that takes on faith and family, the film is set in the West during the late 1800’s. The story centers around a woman dragging a body through the desert who fears the Devil may be soon approaching. Starring Laci Fay, along with Dayne Fay, Kreigh Carter and Russell Bangerter. Featuring the music of Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
