John Pinette, Dead at 50

It is always hard to hear when we’ve lost someone in the industry. And today is no different. News has broken that comedian, John Pinette has died. He was found dead in his Pittsburgh Sheraton Hotel  room around 2:30 and there is no indication of foul play. The  cause of death appears to have been a pulmonary embolism. According to Pinette’s personal physician said the actor had been suffering from liver and heart disease. Pinette was currently on a live tour that had set dates from April to June across venues in the U.S. and Canada. According to his last post on Facebook on April 4th he was looking forward to an upcoming event on the 13th.

As an actor, Pinette’s film credits include roles in Junior (1994), The Punisher (2004) and The Last Godfather (2010). He had stared in several comedy specials as well including Still Hungry (2011) and I’m Starvin (2006). His television credits include Vinnie & Bobby, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose and High Tidebefore his role in the last Seinfeld episode in 1998. Additionally he was often seen at Canada’s Just for Laughs festival.
